Unlock Your Business Potential: Use the Kolbe Assessment

If you’re a small business owner, it can be difficult to know where to start when it comes to growing your business. With so many tasks and responsibilities on your plate, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and unsure of the best approach. However, there is a solution that can help you identify your strengths and create a solid foundation for business growth: the Kolbe Assessment.

The Kolbe Assessment is a unique tool that measures your natural instincts and preferred method of operation. Unlike many personality tests focusing on character traits, the Kolbe Assessment measures four Action Modes that reflect how you naturally approach problem-solving and decision-making. These modes are Fact Finder, Follow Through, Quick Start, and Implementor.

You can use the Kolbe Assessment to create a more efficient and productive business by understanding your natural strengths and preferred problem-solving methods. You can assign tasks based on your strengths, which can maximize productivity and minimize wasted time and resources.

For instance, you might be a front-stage person who is good at generating ideas and starting new projects but need help with follow-through and fact-finding. In that case, it’s important to surround yourself with team members who excel in those areas. Creating a culture that values and maximizes each team member’s strengths can build a high-performance team to help your business flourish.

By understanding each team member’s natural strengths and preferred method of problem-solving, you can assign tasks based on their strengths, which can maximize productivity and minimize wasted time and resources.

One of my favourite sayings is, “Decisions need to be made at the lowest level of the organization.” As the leader, it really helps to know how your team naturally makes decisions so that you can equip them with the information they need to make them even better.

In addition to optimizing the hiring process, Kolbe can increase employee retention and performance. By creating a culture that values and maximizes each team member’s strengths, you can build a cohesive and supportive team better equipped to meet challenges and achieve its goals.

Understanding your Kolbe score can help you discover your strengths and identify areas where you may need support.

As a leader, you always want to work on your C.P.A. (your betterment in Communication, Process and Accountability). When you better understand your strengths and your team’s, that’s when the fun begins!
